Investigator Biography - Jess Morell

Jess Morell recently retired as a Senior Investigator with the Los Angeles County District Attorneys' Office after having served over twenty five years in law enforcement. His investigative experience is extensive, and he is highly respected in the judicial system.

During the course of his employment as a Senior Investigator, Mr. Morell had been involved in the investigation, which ultimately lead to successful prosecution of cases involving: homicide, sex crimes, rape, organized crime, child abduction, witness locate and protection, fraud and gangs.

Mr. Morell is bi-lingual in Spanish and has worked with other state and federal law enforcement agencies in locating and returning reluctant witnesses from Mexico and other Cental American Countries. These reluctant witnesses were essential in the successful prosecution of our nation's most violent and dangerous criminals.

Mr. Morell has obtained numerous commendations praising his ability to pull together major investigations that previously seemed futile. Many prosecutors and fellow law enforcement officers have praised Mr. Morell's outstanding ability to connect with people, including witnesses, victims and defendants. It is his strong ability to work with people that has allowed him to be so successful in obtaining crucial case information and co-operation.

Having worked as a District Attorney Investigator, Mr. Morell knows the pressure placed upon attorneys, victims, witnesses and defendants involved in criminal and civil trials. He knows first hand to "expect the unexpected", allowing his client to feel confident in Mr. Morell's abilities. Once again, Mr. Morell's ability to speak Spanish has enhanced the value to his clients.

During the course of his law enforcement career Mr. Morell was also employed by the Los Angeles County Marshal's Office. One of his assignments was working in the courts system. During the course of that assignment he served essentially thousands of subpoenas, court process, writ of executions and summons and complaints. He has outstanding knowledge of how to find witnesses, assets and serve process successfully.
